Job Description:

Looking for a mature, professional Administrative Assistant for a position at a Government Continuity of Operations (COOP) support office. This position is required to coordinate general administrative requirements in a government contracting and travel office, as well as providing support during assessment visits, mission partner meetings, exercises and other mission support activities. This position is responsible for supporting the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) in their duties in administering a wide variety of contracting actions, coordinating with the Contracting Office as well as supporting routine administrative support and record keeping. This position also provides periodic personnel travel support, as required. This position may also provide operational support to the government's continuity activities both in and outside the National Capital Region. The successful candidate requires sound computer skills, attention to detail, interpersonal skills, and meticulous ability to maintain administrative records. Periodic travel may be required.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the administration of office files, spreadsheets, and documents, including the storage of documents physically and electronically.
  • Create, update and maintain spread sheets.
  • Promulgate reports as required.
  • Coordinate contracting and other purchasing administrative actions between the requestor and contracting office, working with the COR to ensure documents are complete, coherent, and accurate prior to submission.
  • Assist the government's travel coordinator during high tempo operations and during their absence.
  • Ability to travel periodically for training, exercises and operational requirements. All travel is within the continental U.S.

Qualifications
  • AA/AS and 5 years of experience providing administrative support.
  • Strong writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Ability to convey conceptual ideas both written and verbally.
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook). Knowledge of operating within a SharePoint environment a plus.
  • Knowledge of Government purchasing and contracting processes and associated documents a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of Government travel processes and regulations a plus.
  • Customer service and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Must possess Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $36.77 - $49.75. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
